At UTSW he was Associate Professor and Chief of the Section of Medical Toxicology, serving as the Medical Director of the North Texas Poison Center for 10 years.
He completed a Masters of Public Health (MPH) at Harvard University before becoming full-time EM faculty at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical (UTSW) Center in Dallas. He graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine, completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the UCLA. He is board certified in Internal Medicine (IM), Emergency Medicine (EM) and Medical Toxicology. Keyes is Associate Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department Of Emergency Medicine, St Joseph Mercy Health System, Ann Arbor, and serves as faculty for the University of Michigan Emergency Medicine Residency Program.
